Ma'anshan

City of Poetry and Steel

About Ma'anshan

Ma'anshan, located in the eastern part of Anhui Province, China, is a riverside city that combines profound cultural heritage with strong industrial strength. Founded and thriving on its steel industry, Ma'anshan is a vital manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone, and is also renowned as the "City of Poetry" — it is the place where Li Bai, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty, spent his final years, where a millennium of literary tradition meets modern industry.

Situated between the provincial capitals of Nanjing and Hefei, Ma'anshan enjoys a strategic location as a key node in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta integration initiative. In recent years, the city has actively promoted the intelligent transformation of traditional industries, establishing a distinctive modern industrial system in areas such as steel metallurgy, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, and robotics, and is accelerating its transition toward high-end, intelligent, and green development.

As an ecological city embraced by mountains and rivers, Ma'anshan boasts abundant natural landscapes and cultural heritage sites. Caishiji, Baochanshan, and Daqingshan attract visitors from all directions, while the riverside promenade along the Yangtze offers an ideal retreat for residents and tourists alike. The city's unique character — "half mountains, half waters, half city" — endows Ma'anshan with distinctive charm and elegance.
